Old Fuzhou...{day 3}

this morning we visited the oldest part of Fuzhou...
a part that has been mostly untouched by the modern world.
This was a garden area w/ a temple at the top of the hill.

a little waterway w/ walkways lining each side of it.

a true running pharmacy!
{it was pretty neat!:)}
there are dr.'s in the back that treat & prescribe.
the ailing one then takes the prescription to this counter
& "pharmacists" gather & weight the herbs in dosages.
they then take them home & brew them into a tea to drink.

{just because...I couldn't resist snapping this picture!:)}

Fuzhou is famous for wood carving &
alot of the buildings in this area have ornate carvings on them!

{a police car - how cute it is :)}

an alley way off of the main street.
alot  of these doorways lead to homes.

eating {or trying to!:)}at a traditional ch*ese resturant.
the little blur  is starting to be common in all my pictures!
He is impossible to photograph.
{i think an SLR is in my very near future ;)!}

--be thou exalted O God, above the heavens...
