today {Sunday} was a leisurely day here!
YAY! {it was much needed!:)}
We visited the "Chen Ancestoral Hall"
this morning...
{dragons are everywhere here I am guessing it
is due to 2012 being the year of the dragon !?!}
Our entire group :)
it is amazing how spending a week or
two with complete strangers is
{in a foreign land :)!}
binds you together!
the Chen Ancestoral Hall was built in 4 yrs.
& the details in it are amazing!
Ch*na has/had some seriously talented craftsmen!
here is an scene carved out of stone..
one of several!
just a lovely walkway :)
all the palaces & temples we have seen are
all the palaces & temples we have seen are
built from stone & are cold & silent.
{of course - I picture ancient Asian people
in silk robes hurrying through these
halls :) & imagine what life must have been like
back then...}
although there are some things
I don't like to think about...
like the huge sacraficial altar
that still sits in the main building...
I can't resist snapping pictures of the details...
{even if there is a lot of nasty looking gargoyles around!}
this talented artist paints with his hands!
no brush included!
amazing & beautiful!
{sobering & real!}
Most of the population here live on less then
$13 a day {in little a.'s province}
& this is a high figure for a lot of the country!
{beautiful garden paths}
The guys in our group were craving steak
{e. especially :)} so our guide made us
reservations at the Japanese Steakhouse
here in our hotel....
What a fun experience it was...
The chef cooked our food right in front of us!
{It wasn't real filling, for me, but I made a
stop at Starbucks afterword;)!}Somehow "seeing" the food "before" it is cooked &
watching them "cook it" enhances the flavor
{& decreases the worry of food poisoning ;)!}
the littles really enjoyed the show too :)
& now E. is dreaming up how "he" can build
one of these big grills to cook on :)
our clothes all laundered, pressed & delivered to
our hotel. wow! Although it is nice to have clean
clothes, I am looking forward to doing my own
laundry :)..
{only 4 days to go!}
--Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord...

Wanna do my laundry too?!!?! Just kidding. I'm having issues with my washing machine getting off balance, and it's in the basement. My husband was telling me the other day how people there live in barracks by the factory they work at, and are at the beck and call of the factory owner anytime night or day. Sad. We are so fortunate here. Almost time to come home!
