--- When washing your hands do not put your {husbands} truck keys on the
back of the {gas station} toilet...
Because ... the vibration from the toilet flushing may cause them to jiggle off,
fall in and go down...
Upon which you will lose all dignity & self respect as you don plastic gloves &
frantically fish for them in a disgusting {gas station} toilet.
Your observant {almost 4} daughter adds to the "experience" by losing it &
becoming an uncontrollable, {loudly} hysterical mess.
Upon the realization that the keys are indeed gone & we are now locked out
of the truck {that has my purse, phone, wallet ... - you get the picture - in it}.
borrow a cell phone & call husband who is watching fireworks & blissfully
unaware....
{Daughter is still following me around wailing & gas station patrons are still
staring, one brave soul ask if she's ok...
--yep, she's just a little traumatized ... she just watched her prim mama
digging around in a {gas station} toilet with who knows what on it ...other
then that we are doing great!}
Husband finally comes in a borrowed van...
An hour later after realizing that the only extra key we have is not an
ignition key & after the attendant kindly tells us she hopes it won't get towed...
we leave truck @ gas station ...
This morning husband plans to tow it to the dealer who has to make a special
key for it & has to have the truck to do it...
& This evening we are starting the Love & Respect dvd's again :) ...
p.s. Husband did tell me he loves me very much & will unless something like
this happens again ... {& then its negotiable}
{I would have pictures but ... the camera was locked in the truck :)!}
*Daughter seems to have recovered this morning & husband is glad...
instead of telling everyone about daddy getting a ticket & being honked
about it --she is now telling everyone about mommy & the keys... {lovely!}
* & son {almost 2} learned a new word ... key, key , key he says over & over..

mercies, and the God of all comfort... 2 Corinthians 1:3

i thot these wildly weird things just happened
ReplyDeleteto me - but give thanks for all things such as
the Lord giveth and the Lord flushes away!!!
You have my deepest sympathy...
ReplyDeleteThis story most certainly tops the list of things that we do to save face with our husband...
I, too, would rather dig around in *shudder* public restroom toilet than call my husband and tell him what I did...
But, when both things happen...
Nightmare.
Glad you (and hubby) are still laughing. That's all there is to do.
Seriously I am laughing hysterically - I can just totally picture the whole thing! This has got to be the best story! Great seeing you tonight! SJH :) (I'll never type my initials again without thinking of.....:)
ReplyDeleteThis would make a great 'Not Me! Monday' post!!
ReplyDeleteAt least we have the blog world to confess things like this and make it sound funny!!!
keep laughing!
Jill
Sorry to hear about your ordeal - but it made an incredibly funny story. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteToo funny! Somehow, I just can't picture it, but you did an excellent job of telling it. RLH
